From the recording booth to the big screen.

Pop star Rihanna is set to make her acting debut in the new movie 'Battleship' according to E! Online.

The movie is inspired by the board game by Hasbro that a lot of people refer to as the "You Sunk My Battleship" game.

It will be interesting to see how that translates the big screen.

The film also stars Taylor Kitsch and Alexander Skarsgård as brothers who end up leading the fight for their planet's survival against an otherworldly force.

'Battleship' is slated to hit theaters in May 2012.
